On the N67, the Wild Atlantic Way, between Kilkee and Miltown Malbay - the village being build around remains of Doonbeg castle from the 15/16th century. One of the most scenic beaches in Ireland, Doughmore, is nearby offering excellent surfing conditions. The dunes behind Doughmore host a prestigous golf course. A safe swimming beach is at the White Strand. Some more picturous spots are in the village along the Doonbeg river and across the remains of the old castle. National Loop Walks. Bicycle Loops.
