The heritage town of Kilrush is
the second largest town in Clare, a historically important market town, lies on the Shannon estuary and has a busy marina. Catch a boat there to visit Scattery Island with its outstanding collection of stone monuments (Pictures of Scattery Island here...) Other activities include dolphin watching tours on the Shannon Estuary.
