A beautiful place to stay...
The Old School House is a Board Failte approved (4-star) self catering cottage right at the banks of the Shannon Estuary in quiet Labasheeda, County Clare, overlooking the river onto
the hills of County Limerick.
The National School was used as such from 1887 until the 1970ies, after which is was sold and converted into a residence. The present owners have renovated it recently up to most modern standards including central heating. Up to 8 people can now easily be accommodated in the three bedrooms, 2 of them being en-suite!
The house is situated right at the banks of the Shannon at the end of the village, opposite the new church. The beautiful old church is next to the house and serves as the local community centre.
This is an undisturbed, very quiet and peaceful area and ideal for those who like to get 'away from it all'.
Enjoy total relaxation on the little veranda in the back offering contemplative views on and across the Shannon, watch the fish jumping, the frequent movement
of ships towards Foynes and Limerick, and many rare birds for which West Clare is famous
