About our location
The house is located on a quiet country road 5 min. from the N67 between Kilkee and Doonbeg. The rocky coastline of Baltard Cliffs & Bay is only a couple of minutes walking time away. The seaside resort of Kilkee with its sheltered beach, the scenic Loop Head Peninsula, Kilrush with its Marina - from where boats leave for Scattery Island and dolphin watching trips - and the Golf courses of Doonbeg, Kilkee and Kilrush are all in close proximity. The village of Doonbeg has shops, fine restaurants as well as traditional pubs with traditional music entertainment throughout the year.
Kilkee and the Loop Head Peninsula
Kilkee is 10 mins. away and one of the country's most popular resorts with quite a few natural amenities around its horseshoe-shaped bay. The safe sheltered sandy beach is protected by Duggerna Reef, which is a natural wonder itself with some large and small rock pools full of marine life. Breathtaking cliff walks offer splendid scenery. This Cliff scenery all along to Loop Head Lighthouse is one of Kilkee's greatest natural attractions. Loop Head Scenic Drive will take you to numerous scenic outlooks. Dolphins, whales and seals appear regularly on and around Loop Head Peninsula. A variety of rare birds, like skuas, storm petrels and shearwaters can be seen flying past and attract birdwatchers from near and far.
County Clare
The many other sights along the West Coast of County Clare - the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and the remarkable landscape of the Burren are all well worth a visit and not far away. Ennis with its attractive narrow shopping streets, the Glor Irish Music centre and the Clare museum, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and - last not least - the Shannon River and Lough Derg offer plenty more possibilities for our guests to choose from.
