The house is in short walking distance to the pubs of Cooraclare Village, well known for their traditional interior and the traditional music sessions taking place here regularly. There's a shop on the other side of the house, open from early to late, and more shops can be found througout the village. Doonbeg River is at the other end of the village and offers good fishing.
This
is a quiet and unspoiled rural area inmidst rolling hills with many quiet tracks to walk or bicycle on. Riding is very popular here with several equestrian centres in the region. Cooraclare is only 10 driving minutes from the market town of
Kilrush and 15 minutes from the swimming beaches of Kilkee and Doonbeg. Kilrush has supermarkets and a busy little marina, where boats leave for Scattery Island and for Dolphin Watching Trips. The adventure centre at the marina offers watersport activities for all ages and abilities.
The sights in the area include the Loop Head Peninsula with its fantastic rocky coastline all the way from Kilkee to Loop Head Lighthouse. Further north and only half an hour away are the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin with the ferry to the Aran Islands and the uniqueBurren region.
