Spanish Point & Miltown Malbay
The beach in Spanish Point is just a short walk away. Its high waves rolling in from the Atlantic are popular with surfers as with swimmers. The swimming here is supervised in the season. Family friendly beaches are to be found all along the coast, e.g. White Strand in Miltown Malbay and Lahinch Beach just20 mins. north which also has a Pool and a seawater aquarium.
Miltown Malbay is the heart of Traditional Music in Clare with many pubs having live traditional sessions throughout the year. The Willie Clancy Traditional Music Summer School attracts thousands of music lovers from all over the world each year. Early booking for that period is essential to avoid disappointment! The house is in walking distance from Miltown Malbay!

Golfing 
Spanish Point has one of the oldest golf courses in Ireland. It is a 9-hole course overlooking the atlantic ocean and in walking distance from the house. If you have a low handicap and your swing is in, try the Greg Norman designed Links Course in Doonbeg, 1o mins down the coast. There are more excellent courses, the most famous being The Links Course at Lahinch, on which the South of Ireland Golf Championship is played annually. Lahinch also has the 18-hole Castle Course.
Fishing 
The rivers and lakes in the area are well known for their wealth of trout and even salmon! Beach angling is as popular as rock fishing and possible all along the Atlantic coast line. Boats for sea fishing can be hired locally.

The quiet country roads of West Clare invite hiking and bicycling! Bicycles can be hired in Miltown Malbay.
The unique Burren region is ideal For walking, history and flora and fauna (30-45 min. driving time). West Clare also has a number of equestrian centres.
