Golfing
A 10 minute drive will take you to renowned Greg Norman designed Doonbeg golf links, luxury hotel and spa. Other renowned golf courses in the proximity include Kilkee links, Kilrush, Spanish Point and Lahinch - all less than half an hour from the house. Ballybunion in County Kerry can easily be reached via the Shannon Car Ferry. Green Fees are available on all of these courses.
Angling
The area has excellent sea and freshwater fishing opportunities. The coast near the house is popular for shore angling. Sea angling trips from Doonbeg, Kilkee and Carrigaholt are a unique adventure which shouldn't be missed! Cycling to Whitestrand Beach
Surfing and Swimming
White Strand (5 mins.) is a safe "Blue Flag" beach for the whole family. Doughmore Strand (behind the golf course) is well known for excellent surfing conditions, for its beautiful sand dunes and for the long beach walks which are possible there. More beaches are in Kilkee, Quilty, Spanish Point and Miltown Malbay. Kilkee also has a gym with an indoor pool, open all year.

Kilkee has a beautiful sheltered beach and is also starting point of scenic Loop Head Drive leading along spectacular cliff scenery to Loop Head Lighthouse.

The market town of Kilrush with it’s modern marina is less than a 20 minutes drive away. Boat trips from the marina to historic Scattery Island and dolphin watching trips are highly recommended. Kilrush Woods occupies 170 hectares east of the town and was formerly the Vandeleur Demesne. The wood with forest trails contains beautiful, mature trees planted in the 18th century. The revived Vandeleur Walled Garden specialises in sub-tropical and southern hemisphere plants.
Welcome to Doonbeg
The town of Miltown Malbay is hosting the annual Willie Clancy Summer School each July which attracts thousands of visitors who are passionate about traditional Irish music and dance. The famous Cliffs of Moher and its state of the art interpretive centre Atlantic Edge is also only a 40 min. drive away, as is the carst terrain of the Burren, a haven for walkers, climbers and botanists.

Traditional Music
West Clare is considered to be the lively heart of Traditional Irish Music! The pubs in the village have traditional music entertainment regularly during the season. Comerford's pub is also home to the singer's club, dedicated to preserve the traditional singing of Ireland. The music festivals in Kilrush and Miltown Malbay each summer attract thousands of music enthusiasts.
